Fluidic Distribution
A specialized multi-port block directs pressure from a reference source to one or more sensors simultaneously for comparison and adjustment. Using a pressure calibration manifold allows technicians to test multiple transmitters against a single master reference under identical conditions. This setup ensures high consistency and efficiency during batch calibration processes.
Connection Management
The manifold features high-pressure valves and quick-connect fittings that allow sensors to be installed and removed without losing pressure in the main line. These valves must provide a bubble-tight seal to prevent leaks that would degrade the accuracy of the calibration. High-integrity materials like stainless steel prevent deformation and ensure long-term durability in laboratory environments, while providing a secure mounting base that minimizes the risk of mechanical stress on the sensor connections.
Overpressure Protection
Integrated safety valves prevent the pressure from exceeding the rating of the manifold and the connected sensors. If the operator accidentally applies too much pressure, the safety valve vents the excess, protecting the delicate instruments from damage. This protection is a critical safety feature when working with high-pressure gas or hydraulic systems.
Testing Procedure
During the calibration process, the technician applies pressure in discrete steps, allowing the system to stabilize at each point. The readings of the sensors are compared with the reference standard, and any discrepancies are corrected. This systematic approach ensures that every sensor calibrated on the manifold meets its specified accuracy tolerance.
