Digital Correction
Array-based storage structures provide pre-calculated adjustment values to counteract systematic errors in sensor output. An asic compensation lookup table allows an integrated circuit to apply real-time fixes for non-linear behavior without requiring complex polynomial calculations. These tables reside in non-volatile memory.
Memory Allocation
Storage capacity determines the resolution of the correction. When an asic compensation lookup table is too small, quantization errors become visible in the output signal. High-resolution sensors require larger arrays to maintain precision.
Interpolation Method
Linear algorithms estimate values between the stored entries. By using an asic compensation lookup table with piecewise linear interpolation, the processor reduces the hardware logic needed for signal processing. This method maintains accuracy across a wide range of input conditions and simplifies the computational load.
Error Reduction
Calibration software populates the entries during the final testing stage of manufacturing. This population of the asic compensation lookup table accounts for the unique offset and gain variations of each individual component. Physical testing across temperature allows the system to build a profile that negates environmental drift.
Without this individualized data, the sensor might fail to meet its specified tolerance levels. The stability of the memory ensures the correction remains valid throughout the life of the product.
